I developed RecognizeMouse for my Powerbook Duo 230 because it didn't it had trouble recognizing the cordless mouse I had plugged into the ADB adapter. It resets the ADB chain, thereby forcing it to recognize all devices connected to it. It does this automatically, unlike ADB parser and ADB probe, which require you to manually reset the chain, and don't always successfully recognize devices connected to it.
To use RecognizeMouse 1.0
========================
System 6:
========
Copy RecognizeMouse 1.0 into some obtrusive place on your hard drive (like your
System Folder,) and select it. Next, choose "Set Startup Item" from the Special
menu, and choose RecognizeMouse 1.0. When you restart, your machine will
run RecognizeMouse 1.0 automatically.
System 7:
========
Copy RecognizeMouse 1.0 into the Startup Items folder in your System Folder.
Upon restart, your machine will run it automatically.
Registration:
===========
Why register?
1: I will appreciate it greatly.
2: I'll send you a registered version of RecognizeMouse which doesn't have
that annoying alert box when it runs, and about 80k smaller than the
unregistered version (yes, the majority of the unregistered version is useless
code, but trying to delete it is not only a pain, but will cause it to crash).
How to register:
You have two registration options:
1: Send $5 to:
Matthew Lau
8803 41st St. W
Tacoma, WA 98466
2: Send me a SASE and a disk filled with at least one of your original programs,
your favorite GIFs, your favorite shareware or freeware, and any suggestions
for future utilities.
Bug report:
If you discover any bugs or any machines RecognizeMouse doesn't run on, please
write me at the address above, or e-mail me at AOL: MatthewBL.
You may distribute (please do) copies of the unregistered version of RecognizeMouse 1.0.0, provided you include this documentation.
